How to Reverse Global Warming, Part Two.

Meat production creates 18% of all greenhouse gases. Methane is a 26 times worse greenhouse gas than CO2. It is obvious that we cannot solve this problem without deeply cutting meat production and consumption. This would very quickly lead to greatly improved health and longevity for all people. We used to feed 85% of all the grain we grow to animals and that hasen't lessened, but now we also plan to burn a third of our corn as ethanol. Feedlots just make beef fatter and less healthy. Both practices drive up grain prices and are not at all moral in a world with so much hunger. Reducing meat production would free up millions of acres that we could use for trees, and we would still have lots of grain left for hungry people. Red meat needs to take a more limited place in human culture and be saved for special ocasions or at least be limited to a few times a week.

We need to faze in a world-wide moratorium on cutting trees and start a crash program to plant trees in every available location. We are still cutting trees at an alarming rate, especially in rain forests where they play an essential role in our global climate. Much of this is burned, worsening the problem by releasing CO2, but even if the clearcut isn't burned, the debri will still decompose and release the CO2 the tree had once captured and stored for centuries. The world must find a way to convince rainforest countries to cease clearing their rainforest. Some of it is being cleared to grow bio-fuels, greatly worsening the problem. If America would slow then greatly reduce the cutting trees, that would go a long way towards getting poor, rainforest countries to stop cutting their trees. We need to start building our homes from things we have a lot of like cement, glass, aluminim and steel, and use recycled wood for decorative touches. All packaging made from trees must be recycled, and no wood products should be disposable. It is crazy to cut down a tree that took a hundred years to grow to make something that will be gone in a few days or years. Each tree will fix a ton of CO2 in it's lifetime and this new forest will create a lot of habitat for animals that we have pushed to the brink of extinction. Thank God and the trees for a wonderful, beautiful way to fix carbon.

It is impossible to solve the global warming problem in the time we have without these essential steps to a sustainable and much healthier world. Reverse Global Warming Now may be controversial, but we may also be the growing tip of the Global Warming Movement. Even though the information about the North Pole has been out for over a year now, the world has yet to realize that things have changed, that we need to drastically alter our plans for dealing with this crisis. Once we lose the Summer ice cover at the North Pole, we will be past the tipping point and into the cycle of runaway global warming with all of the negative consequences. We will face massive flooding, droughts and heat waves, loss of species and tremendous dislocation and difficulty for humanity and a much less enjoyable world for our children and grandchildren. Someone must put forth a plan that could still save the North Pole. We must have a program that could save us from the disasterous effects of runaway global warming. Please help us promote this work. Cars, coal, cows and chainsaws are destroying our climate and our planet, and we seem to be the only ones willing to address all of these problems.
